No Decision Yet On Trick Or Treating In Libertyville
Village officials are waiting on word from the Illinois Department of Public Health to decide whether to move ahead with the tradition.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Village officials in Libertyville say they have not yet decided if they will announce suggested Halloween hours this year. Due to COVID-19, trick-or-treating could pose some risk of transmitting the virus as large groups will be gathering or walking together in town.
On Monday, village administrator Kelly Amidei told Patch that guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health on how to handle trick or treating in towns would helpful.
As of Monday, other suburban towns and county health departments were also waiting on word from IDPH and monitoring the local case counts to make a determination on trick or treating. DuPage County Health spokesman Don Bolger said in a statement that IDPH was planning to provide more details by the end of September, according to NBC 5 Chicago.
