MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Community Park District has launched a new initiative, "Home but not Alone," to help the community during the coronavirus pandemic. The park district facilities and parks are currently closed, but the park district will provide virtual recreational opportunities for all ages.
The park district said it will be focusing on four areas: health and wellness, special events, youth activities and family challenges.
"You’ll find daily challenges, weekly contests for families, prizes and incentives, story time for kids, and many videos (made by our staff and fitness instructors) that range from pilates and yoga workouts to how to make delicious homemade pretzels and healthy ice cream," the park district said.
