After Montgomery shooting, suspect refused to leave home in Aurora.

Just before 7:30 p.m., Aurora police said a 19-year-old shooting suspect walked out of a home where he was barricaded and was taken into custody.
The suspect, wanted in connection with a shooting Friday afternoon in Montgomery, was holed up at the house in the 1100 block of Homer Avenue, according to police.

Aurora police are searching the home, a police department spokesman said.
The 19-year-old was taken to the Montgomery police station.The teen is a suspect in a shooting that reportedly injured one person in the area of Elliot and Melrose at around 2:20 p.m. Friday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Updated at 7:10 p.m. Feb. 6:
A 19-year-old male, believed to be the suspect in a shooting in nearby Montgomery, remained barricaded in an Aurora home on Friday night, police said.
Aurora police said they were dispatched to assist Montgomery police with a shooting in the area of Elliot and Melrose at around 2:20 p.m.
Less than an hour later, police discovered that the 19-year-old suspect was at a home in the 1100 block of Homer Avenue, police said.
The house is the residents of friends of the suspect, who has refused to leave the home, police said.
At around 6 p.m., a woman left the house, police said. At 6:35 p.m., an adult male, also exited. Both are being questioned by police, who do not believe either of the adults were being held against their will.
Police said they believe the 19-year-old suspect is the only person remaining in the house. As of shortly after 7 p.m., the investigation remained ongoing, police said.

After a Friday afternoon shooting in Montgomery, Aurora police are asking residents in the area of Homer Avenue to stay in their homes due to a barricaded subject.
“Aurora Police are asking residents in the area bounded by Lebanon, Sherman, Elliot, and Douglas to stay in their homes due to a barricaded subject who is possibly armed in the 1100 block of Homer Avenue,” police said in an alert issued just before 5 p.m.
Aurora police said the subject is believed to be connected to a shooting that occurred earlier today in Montgomery.
Police said one person was injured in the shooting, which happened near Douglas and Melrose, according to the Chicago Tribune. After the incident, nearby Krug Elementary School was placed on lockdown, which was lifted at around 4 p.m.
“There is a heavy police presence in the area,” the alert said.
