Former Montgomery Principal Accused Of Sexual Conduct With Minor

Police charged Kevin Lipke, a former Montgomery principal, with sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A former Mongtomery elementary school principal has been accused of sexual conduct with a minor in South Carolina. According to the Horry County Police Department, Kevin Lipke, 46, was arrested in early November and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor aged 11-14.

Lipke served as principal of Long Beach Elementary School from 2007 through 2012, when he resigned, Long Beach Elementary School District 308 spokesperson Theresa Komitas told Patch via email Monday.

"There were no disciplinary or investigatory records in his personnel file. The district is not aware of any inappropriate relationships with students during his time as the Principal at Long Beach," Komitas added.

According to Chicago Tribune, Lipke resigned from his post as Pontiac superintendent in 2014 and his Illinois teaching license was suspended in April 2015 "amid allegations of improper contact with children." Criminal charges were not brought against Lipke in that instance, but he was required to undergo mental health counseling and "impulse control" training before his license could be reinstated.

Chicago Tribune reports that when Lipke moved to South Carolina, his Illinois suspension carried over on the grounds that Lipke "violated professional boundaries and those of healthy adult/child relationships" by using his professional role to "form inappropriate relationships with young male students."
