Montgomery Man Assaulted Officer, Told Dog To Attack: Police
The German shepherd did not obey his owner's command, police said.

MONTGOMERY, IL — A Montgomery man was arrested Friday after officers said he ordered a German shepherd to attack to officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance report in the 2000 block of William Drive. Police say while investigating the scene at 11:10 p.m., they encountered 29-year-old Christopher Szarek, who ordered a dog inside a vehicle to attack the officers.
Although the dog did not attack police, officials said Szarek was told he was under arrest for aggravated assault towards a police office. During the arrest, police said he resisted and battered an officer.
According to MPD, the officer didn't need medical attention and Szarek was taken to the Kendall County Jail, where he was charged with one count of aggravated battery, two counts of resisting arrest, one count of obstructing arrest and two counts of assault.
