Montgomery Teen Killed in Crash With Semi in Rural Kane County.
Arthur Stenger, of Montgomery, and Elijah Vaigert, of Maple Park, both died in the Saturday evening crash.

KANE COUNTY, IL - Two teenage boys were killed over the weekend in a crash with a semi truck in rural Kane County, authorities said.
Arthur Stenger, 16, of the 1900 block of Cambridge Way in Montgomery, and Elijah Vaigert, 16, of the 42W200 Block of Beith Road in Maple Park, were both killed in the crash that occurred at about 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the intersection of Meredith Road and Beith Road in unincorporated Virgil Township, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Both boys were juniors at Kaneland High School, according to the Daily Herald.

"Tomorrow at (school) full crisis management teams will be ready to support our students and staff as needed,"Kaneland District 302 Superintendent Todd Leden told the Daily Herald. "Unfortunately, both of the families experienced a tragic loss with their boys dying in the car accident. We ask everyone be sensitive to both families and their wishes and support them."
The crash happened when a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, driven by Stenger, was heading west on Beith Road, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Beith and Meredith roads and then, for an unknown reason, pulled out in front of a 1979 Peterbuilt semi truck, which was headed south on Meredith Road. Both vehicles rolled over and took out a utility pole and power lines near the intersection, according to a news release.

Stenger and Vaigart were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, Jack Krueger, 60, of the 13N500 block of Burlington Road in Burlington, was treated and released at the scene.
The intersection of Meredith and Beith roads were closed as the investigation continues and ComEd repairs the power lines.
No tickets have been issued.
