Lincoln-Way Employee Resigns After Financial Discrepancies: D210

A former Lincoln-Way Central employee came under investigation for embezzling money from ticket sales. The Will County Sheriff's Office said detectives were called to the administration office Aug. 6 and spoke to administrators about alleged financial transgressions discovered on the books of the Lincoln-Way Athletic Boosters. Melissa McGrath, of Manhattan, was later charged with theft and forgery.

3 Corners Grill And Tap Coming To New Lenox

3 Corners Grill And Tap, which operates locations in Lemont and Downers Grove, opened a location in New Lenox in 2019.


New Lenox Warehouse Fire Fully Extinguished 6 Days After Blaze

Both directions of I-80 were closed due to the fire when it first happened on Aug. 3. Residents from miles away over reported seeing the smoke from the blaze. The fire department said one of the buildings was a complete loss, while the other building has been heavily damaged.

New Lenox Teen Wins Miss Teen USA Globe

New Lenox teenager and Lincoln-Way Central senior Maddy Rafalski will travel to China later this year to compete for Miss Teen Globe International. Rafalski is the current Miss Teen Globe title holder.


D122 Wrestler Wins Second State Championship

Alex M. Martino Junior High student Nathan Knowlton recently won his second IESA State Wrestling Championship. According to the IESA website, Knowlton won the Class AA 75-pound championship.


Abductions In New Lenox, Frankfort: Three Men Charged, In Custody

Three men were charged after their involvement in the abductions of a woman in Frankfort and a man in New Lenox. With the help of crime tips, video surveillance and technology, the three men were identified early on in the investigation, police said.
