Write-In Candidate Raatjes Projected Winner Of 2-Year D122 Term
The projected winners of the New Lenox Library trustee race have also been declared.

NEW LENOX, IL — Two out of three of the local races in New Lenox have projected winners. The District 122 race involving write-in candidates has not yet been counted. The projected winners of the New Lenox Village Trustee race are incumbents Doug Finnegan, David Butterfield and Keith Madsen.
On the New Lenox Library board, the projected winners are Bonnie Ulstad, Michelle DeBella MonBrod and Alex Vancina.
Will County Clerk has also announced the unofficial results for write-in candidates in the county. Aaron Raatjes is the unofficial winner, with 400 votes.

- Vancina: 1,310
- DeBella Monbrod: 1,370
- Ulstad: 1,475

Patch spoke to both candidates for the unexpired 2-year term for New Lenox District 122 school board.
Raatjes believes his background as an educator will "lend an informed perspected to the board."
"Because education is my career, I am up to date on new trends and best practices for improving schools," he said. "I understand how the various pieces of a school district work in conjunction with one another and will bring this knowledge and insight to the Board of Education."
Gilman believes his experience in local politics will make him as asset to the board.
"I have an understanding of how boards are run and how legislative bodies work. I have taught others how to lead meetings, I have written and revised bylaws, and am well studied in how boards function," he said. "I have also come to know many of our local legislators and will have no problem reaching out to them in Springfield to advocate for our district."
Patch also spoke to several candidates for New Lenox village board.
"I am running for village trustee, as I want to be part of the change I want to see here in New Lenox," O'Leary said. "I want to give back to my community and make my community a better place to live."
"I strongly feel New Lenox is the ideal place to live, work and raise a family. I moved here 24 years ago with my family for a better way of life," Madsen said.
"As a trustee on the current board, we've been able to have tremendous residential and commercial growth with minimal impact to our residents," Finnegan said.
