• New Lenox Woman Targeted In Will County Jail Bond Scam: NLPD (patch.com) — Residents in New Lenox are being warned after a local woman was tricked by a caller posing as a Will County sheriff's sergeant, who claimed a jailed relative could be bonded out over the phone. After paying $500 by debit card, she discovered multiple unauthorized charges in New York and quickly froze her card while New Lenox police review the case.
   

• 50 Years Later, Renewed Push For Answers In Woman's New Lenox Township Murder (patch.com) — New Lenox Township residents are being asked to help solve the 50-year-old homicide of 17-year-old Jennifer Lynn Springman, whose body was found along Hickory Creek under the I-80 bridge near Route 30. Will County Sheriff's investigators are renewing their push for tips, stressing that even faded or seemingly minor memories from 1976 could be crucial, and they provide multiple ways for people to share information, including anonymously.
