As an officer with the New Lenox American Legion Auxiliary, this year I am working with the Village of New Lenox to make Veterans Day bigger and better by asking the community to help make that happen and, thereby, giving everyone a chance to show our Veterans how much we sincerely appreciate them. Some years ago, during the Veterans ceremony at Proud American Days, a local HVAC company gave away an air conditioning unit with installation for one lucky Veteran to win. I thought this was an amazing gift and have never forgotten how it truly said to our Veterans “We appreciate you!” I am currently looking for such type gifts we can raffle off to the Veterans on Veterans Day. Maybe free house painting for 1 or 2 rooms in one’s home, 4 new tires, complimentary lawn aeration or other lawn service, new gutters, complimentary ride to and from O’Hare or Midway, window cleaning, etc. Please contact me with your offers at clewis1004@comcast.net and if you are not able to offer at this time, please pass this on to anyone you know who might.
PATRIOTS!
If you would like to drop off something for the Veterans to show your appreciation or have a special school project for children to share, for example, please contact me at clewis1004@comcast.net.
Thank you all so very much for your patriotism!
