Extra! Extra! Unfolding WWII through Newspaper Headlines

A new exhibit opening at the Morton Grove Historical Museum's Education Center on September 24th at noon.

Today, it’s tough to remember a time when people depended on print media for their breaking news. This fall, the Morton Grove Historical Museum Education Center will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor with a new exhibit featuring newspapers from headline events during World War II. See how the war unfolded in true 1940’s reporting style for a home front audience here in Morton Grove.

Join us on Saturday, September 24th for an opening reception and Victory Tea, hosted by First Daughter Margaret Truman (portrayed by our Assistant Curator Lauren Szady) who will discuss what life is like being in the public eye of her father’s White House just as WWII is ending.
