Majority Of Collapsed Condo Building Residents Find Accommodations: Morton Grove PD
The entire building was displaced after a floor collapse Saturday night, leaving around two dozen people looking for shelter.
MORTON GROVE, IL — An investigation into a floor collapse at a condominium building over the weekend continues as residents make living arrangements due to the structure not currently being fit for occupancy. None of the nearly two dozen people affected by the incident were injured, according to Morton Grove police.
Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Saturday to the 5900 block of Lincoln Avenue in Morton Grove to assist the local fire department with a partial floor collapse in one of the units. The residents were rescued by firefighters after a beam in the basement garage partially failed, causing the building's floors to drop several inches and leaving condo doors jammed shut.
