Morton Grove Crime: Prostitution Sting Nabs Man At Best Western
Morton Grove police reports: March 10-March 21
MORTON GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Morton Grove Police Department as a record of police activity. Criminal charges are merely accusations and can be dropped or reduced. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and all defendants are innocent unless their guilt is established by a court beyond a reasonable doubt.
PROSTITUTION
Yi Mei Lu, 39, of the 1000 block of 60th Street in Brooklyn, New York, was arrested in a prostitution sting conducted by the Morton Grove Police Department's Investigation division on March 10 at the Best Western Motel at 9424 Waukegan.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On March 15, Morton Grove Police found 25-year-old Evansville, Indiana man asleep in a parked car in the 7900 block of Golf road. Next to him on the passenger seat was a hypodermic needle that he told police was full of morphine. Police sent the needle to the lab and arrested the man for possession of drug paraphernalia.

DUI & DWLR
Michael A. Pelkowski, 33, of the 8800 block of 76th Place in Justice, was pulled over for traffic violations at Dempster and Waukegan on March 18. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI and driving on a revoked driver’s license. At the station suspect provided a breath sample of .252.
DUI
George D. Arroyo, 28, of the 3100 block of Richmond in Chicago, was stopped for a traffic violation at Dempster and Menard on March 19. He admitted to having four strong drinks and could not preform field sobriety tests and refused to provide breath blood or urine samples.
CANNABIS POSSESSION
On March 18, a 32-year-old Skokie man was stopped for equipment violations at Marmora and Dempster. he was issued Morton Grove local ordinance citations for cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
NO LICENSE
On March 17, a 21-year-old Waukegan man was stopped for an equipment violation on the 9400 block of Waukegan and arrested for driving while license suspended.
IDENTITY THEFT
On March 10 a complainant on the 7800 block of maple reported that someone opened multiple store credit cards in her name.
BURGLARY
Someone burglarized multiple storage units at Public Storage at 8625 Waukegan on March 15.
ATTEMPTED SCAM
On March 16, complainant stated someone dropped off a letter supposedly from the Cook County Health and Hospitals System on 9100 block of Harlem. Complainant called the number on the letter and a male subject asked for her date of birth. Complainant believes the letter to be fake.
IDENTITY THEFT
On March 18, complainant on the 8600 block of Waukegan stated someone opened a PayPal account and linked it to his Chase bank account.
BURGLARY
On March 21, complainant stated someone burglarized his apartment. At the time of the report nothing appeared to be missing from the location on the 5500 block of Lincoln.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On March 21, complainant stated someone broke off her vehicle’s driver’s side windshield wiper on the 9500 block of Harlem.
OTHER AGENCY ASSIST
Morton Grove Officers responded to a Niles shots fired call at Chasers. Morton Grove Officers assisted Niles in providing first aid to the victim and taking the offender into custody at 9038 Churchill Circle.
