Wolves' Girls Place Second in Interstate Track Meet

In boys' track, Niles West is hamstrung by Ochoa's injury.

With 26 high school track teams competing at a Wisconsin meet Saturday, the Niles West girls took second place, with 66 points, according to the Niles Herald Spectator. 

The Nelson-Daniels Indoor Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater fielded teams from Wisconsin and northern Illinois. A team from Arrowhead, Wisconsin took first. 

Kellion Gordon, a Niles West senior, was named "Female Athlete of the Meet" after winning the 400 and being part of the 800 relay team that finished third.

In Niles West boys' track, Santiago Ochoa is expected to miss a good portion of the outdoor track season due to a hamstring injury. Head coach Chris Vivone expects him to be out until May, necessitating the younger teammates to step up.
