Bank Customer Makes Threats; Reusable Bag Alcohol Theft: Blotter
An unhappy customer made threats at Chase Bank; a woman used a reusable bag to steal alcohol at Mariano's: Northbrook Police Blotter.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
Justin L. Phinnessee, 32, of the 8200 block of S Hermitage, Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, improper use of registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 7:36 p.m. Dec. 18 at Willow Road and Ravine Way. He posted a $3,000 bond, and he was assigned a court date of Feb. 3, 2021 in Skokie.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Ronald T. Fox, 37, of the 2200 block of N Lockwood Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at Waukegan and Founders roads. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond, and he was assigned a court date of Feb. 8, 2021 in Skokie.

NO DRIVER'S LICENSE
Edwin Tenesaca-Cardenas, 28, of the 6500 block of N Clark, Chicago, is accused of no driver's license, speeding, and was arrested at 12:11 a.m. Dec. 19 at Willow and Landwehr roads. He posted a $2,500 bond, and was assigned a court date of Feb. 8, 2021 in Skokie.
INCIDENTS
NEIGHBOR PROBLEM
A resident in the 50 block of Avon Road reported at 7:28 p.m. Dec. 17 that they believe that their neighbor or their dog may have knocked over a fence.
HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE
A Regent Drive resident called police at 2:58 p.m. Dec. 18 to report that they have been receiving calls, possibly from someone who has been a client for an extended period of time.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee at Mariano's, 700 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 5:39 p.m. Dec. 18 that they saw a female, who was carrying a reusable bag, place several bottles of alcohol in the bag and then walk out of the store without paying for the items.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE
- A resident in the 1000 block of Cedar Road called police at 4:09 a.m. Dec. 19 to report that they were awakened by a loud noise. The complainant discovered that their garage door was open. The garage was checked by officers and nothing appeared to be missing.
- A resident in the 2200 block of Farnsworth Lane reported at 6:51 a.m. Dec. 20 that they saw that their garage door was open. The complainant reported that their doorbell video showed an activation in the early morning hours but did not show what activated it. The garage was checked by officers and nothing was believed to be missing.
- A resident in the 2200 block of Ridge Road called police at 10:53 a.m. Dec. 20 to report someone drove over their lawn causing damage.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 2300 block of Woodlawn Avenue reported at 5:52 p.m. Dec. 21 that they saw an unknown female, who was with a toddler near their garage. When the complainant inquired about what the female was looking for, she stated that she was looking for her aunt’s home then left in a black-colored vehicle.
UNWANTED PERSON
An employee at P.F. Chang's, 1800 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 6:21 p.m. Dec. 21 to report that at female customer was asked to put a mask on or leave the restaurant. The female refused both requests until police were called.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident in the 2300 block of Woodlawn Avenue reported at 7:32 p.m. Dec. 22 that they heard a loud crash sound. The complainant then said that an unknown person drove off of the roadway, struck several stones and then drove off.
THREATS
An employee at Chase Bank, 4200 block of Dundee Road, called police at 9:57 a.m. Dec. 23 to report that a male was upset that the bank would not cash a check for them at the branch. The employee said the male did not have an account with the bank, and when informed that they would not be able to cash the check, the male became frustrated and made threatening statements. Officers arrived and the male left without incident.
BANK ROBBERY
An employee at Fifth Third Bank, 200 block of Skokie Boulevard, reported at 2:14 p.m. Dec. 23 that a bank robbery had occurred. Officers responded and the case has been turned over to the FBI for further investigation. Read more about this incident here.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 600 block of Voltz Road called police at 3:21 p.m. Dec. 23 to report someone forced a side door open and entered the residence. The complainant did not report anything was missing.
SOLICITOR COMPLAINT
A resident in the 2600 block of Illinois Road reported at Dec. 23 that two people were at their door stating that they needed to check their basement. The complainant called police and officers made contact with the people, who were soliciting for a waterproofing company.
