Bulls Fan Scammed Buying Tickets Online: Northbrook Police Blotter
The complainant reportedly paid $500 for four tickets they never received, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
IDENTITY THEFT
Corey Lofton, of Chicago, is accused of felony aggravated identity theft, and was arrested at 5:18 p.m. Nov. 16, in the 700 block of Skokie Boulevard. Lofton allegedly stole a wallet from a victim's purse in September and then used the victim's credit card to make fraudulent purchases at a retail store. A court date of Dec. 1 was assigned.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE
- Antowain C. Johnson, of Chicago, is accused of having an expired registration, driving while license suspended, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 11:23 p.m. Nov. 16, in the 2700 block of Willow Road. A court date of Dec. 29 was assigned.
- Daniel B. Murphy, of Bartlett, is accused of having an expired registration, driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 7:26 a.m. Nov. 21, at Dundee Road and Fair Lane. A court date of Dec. 15 was assigned.
RETAIL THEFT

Kristie Lake, of Island Lake, is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 2:52 p.m. Nov. 18, in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road. According to police, Lewis reportedly was in the store to complete a return from an online order and left the store without paying for two purses she had placed in her bag. A court date of Dec. 4 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY TO VEHICLES
The security staff of a shopping mall in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 11 a.m. Nov. 18, said they saw three subjects pulling on door handles of several cars out in the parking lot. After several unsuccessful attempts to get into the vehicles, the subjects fled in a black Audi. The Audi was found to be stolen earlier in the day from Round Lake Beach.
THEFT
- A White Oak Drive resident called police at 9:39 a.m. Nov. 20, to report they had reached out to an online platform to purchase Chicago Bulls tickets. A subject responded back, claiming he had four tickets for sale for $500. Per the instructions, the complainant sent the money via a phone app. When he never received the tickets, he tried contacting the subject. The complainant was blocked from the phone number of the subject and the online profile was taken down.
- A complainant reported at 2:01 p.m. Nov. 21, someone broke into his locker while he was at a fitness center in the 2700 block of Techny Road. The subject stole his credit card and fraudulently used it at two stores.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
A resident in the 200 block of Arrowwood Drive reported at 2:27 p.m. Nov. 20, someone stole the catalytic converter from his 2009 Subaru Forester that was parked overnight in his driveway.
RETAIL THEFT
- The staff at an electronic store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 4:43 p.m. Nov. 20, two subjects came into the store and concealed three cell phones. The subjects walked out of the store without paying for them.
- The staff at a retail store in the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 8:06 p.m. Nov. 21, several subjects entered the store and grabbed five Columbia brand jackets. The subjects walked out of the store without paying for them.
IDENTITY THEFT
An Adams Street resident reported at 10:26 a.m. Nov. 21, she was recently denied a loan, so she ran a credit history. She learned someone used her identity to take out cell phone account, home loan and car loan. The fraudulent home and car loan was repossessed. The complainant has put a freeze on her credit.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLES
Police took two reports at 11:08 p.m. Nov. 22, of subjects throwing eggs at vehicles. One vehicle was attacked while driving. The other vehicle was parked in a driveway. Glenview had similar calls as well.
