NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Jonathan Hernandez, 21, of the 1200 block of 12th Street, Northfield, is accused of having a suspended driver's license, expired registration, and was arrested at 9:37 p.m. Aug. 20, at Willow and Waukegan roads. He was released after posting $2,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Sept. 21.
  • Emily J. Bratu, 22, of the 7200 block of W Crain Street, Niles, is accused of driving with a suspended license, speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, and was arrested at 5:34 p.m. Aug. 23, at Dundee and Lee. She was released after posting a $2,500 bond.

RETAIL THEFT

Yolanda Tanner, 60, of the 1600 block of S Christina Avenue, Chicago, is accused of felony retail theft, and was arrested at 11:04 a.m. Aug. 23, at TJ Maxx, 40 block of Skokie Boulevard. Tanner was seen concealing multiple items and then leaving the store without paying for them. She was taken to court for a bond hearing.

Paris A. Poblete, 27, of the 1600 block of Longbow Court, Wheeling, is accused of a felony count of possession of a firearm with revoked Firearm Owners Identification card (FOID), speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:34 a.m. Aug. 24, at Dundee and Waukegan roads. Police saw Poblete traveling in excess of the posted speed limit and pulled him over. The officer found open alcohol in the passenger compartment. During a search of the vehicle, they found a handgun in the center console. He was assigned a court date of Sept. 2.

INCIDENTS

BATTERY

A resident of the 200 block of Skokie Boulevard reported at 8:06 p.m. Aug 19, a fellow resident threatened them and spit on them while they were in the patio area.

FRAUD

A Division Street resident called police at 8:21 p.m. Aug. 5, to report someone hacked into their checking account and made several unauthorized withdrawals.

IDENTITY THEFT

A person at Pinstripes, 1100 block of Willow Road, reported at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 20, they received a telephone call from someone claiming to represent Social Security regarding a fraudulent use of their information. The complainant supplied the caller with their information at the time of the call. The complainant was advised to report the activity to Social Security and the credit bureaus.

THEFT

A resident of the 3900 block of Dundee Road called police to report that between 8:15 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. Aug. 20 someone took their bicycle from the garage without permission.

THREATENING TELEPHONE CALLS

A resident of Lee Road reported at 4:07 p.m. Aug. 21, receiving a group text message where one of the people in the group posted what was perceived as threatening language.

DISPUTE

An employee at Whole Foods, 800 block of Willow Road, called police at 2:18 p.m. Aug. 23, to report a dispute between store officials and a customer regarding the mask mandate. The situation was resolved without incident.
