Stolen Plates Leads To Meth Bust Of Ohio Man: Northbrook PD Blotter
The man was also wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Wheaton for continuance of financial crimes enterprise and ID theft.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Carie Lee Sadler, of Zanesville, Ohio, is accused of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of a stolen registration, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and was arrested at 11:01 a.m. April 29, at Founders Drive and Willow Road. Police received information regarding a vehicle driving with stolen plates attached to it. Sadler had an expired driver's license out of Florida and a suspended driver's license out of Ohio. Police also reportedly found Sadler in possession of four baggies and a vile that tested positive for containing methamphetamine. Sadler was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Wheaton for continuance of financial crimes enterprise and ID theft. The Wheaton Police Department was notified of the arrest. A court date of May 11 was assigned.

RETAIL THEFT
Inga Jackson, of Northbrook, had an active warrant from the Cook County Sheriff's Office for retail theft, and turned herself in to Northbrook police at 1:32 p.m. May 3. A court date of June 2 was assigned.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
James J. Blanchard, of Glenview, is accused of having an expired registration, a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 4:17 p.m. May 3, at Pfingsten Road and Canterbury Drive. A court date of May 18 was assigned.
A resident in the 800 block of Appletree Court reported at 7:08 p.m. April 30, someone has illegally dumped garbage on to her property on two separate occasions. The complainant described the subject as a male in his 50s and about 6 feet tall.
FLEEING AND ELUDE
Police responded to the area of Sanders and Lake Cook roads at 1:42 a.m. May 2, where a stolen vehicle, a 2021 blue Infiniti, was sighted. When officers found the vehicle, it was traveling in excess of 90mph on Dundee Rd. It continued to flee at a high rate of speed on to Route 294.
INTIMIDATION
A Pamela Lane resident reported at 11:21 a.m. May 2, someone had contacted him electronically. The subject stated unless he paid thousands of dollars, harm would come to his family. The complainant did not know who the subject was or why they were doing this.
COMPUTER FRAUD
- A Trailwood Lane resident called police at 11:57 a.m. May 2, to report she thought she received an email from Comcast regarding a reduction in her bill. The email asked her to pay the initial fee with gift cards. The complainant purchased two Target gift cards in the amount of $950 and provided the card numbers through the email. She later realized the email was fake.
- A Yorkshire Lane resident reported at 12:43 p.m. May 4, he was contacted through a social media account by someone offering a cryptocurrency investment. The complainant signed up and the account initially showed a profit. After the complainant sent over $96,000, the account was suspended and he was locked out of the account.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Ballantrae Drive resident reported at 10:25 a.m. May 3, someone accessed his airline point’s portal. The subject changed the account name and personal information to steal 240,000 points.
THEFT
A Dundee Road resident called police at 11:33 a.m. May 3, to report he ordered an iPhone through the internet. When the delivery box arrived, it was empty.
STOLEN AUTO
A resident in the 2100 block of Mallard Drive called police at 7:42 p.m. May 2, to report someone stole his 2000 black Toyota Celica from his driveway.
BURGLARY
The manager of an office building in the 1300 block of Techny Road reported at 1:13 p.m. May 4, someone broke into the building and destroyed items and moved them around. The building currently doesn’t have a tenant.
RETAIL THEFT
The manager of a retail store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported at 4:37 p.m. May 4, she saw a subject run out of the store holding a pair of jeans in his hand. After checking the video surveillance footage, the same subject can be seen concealing two additional jeans inside his clothing prior to taking the third and running out the doors. Two other subjects were with the offender during the crime. The subjects ran to a silver sedan and fled the area.
