Worker Enters Home To Smell Undergarments: Northbrook Police Blotter
The maintenance worker is accused of disorderly conduct after entering a tenant's condo, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Conor M. Nash, of Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 7:36 p.m. Aug. 22, at Redwood Lane and Meadow Road. Officers responded to an automobile crash and found Nash's vehicle with heavy front end damage. They said his car had run off the roadway and struck a tree. A court date of Oct. 11 was assigned.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Sergio R. Ortiz, of Wheeling, is accused of disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 11:49 a.m. Aug. 24, in the 1100 block of Lake Cook Road. Police said Ortiz admitted to entering a tenant’s condo for the purposes of smelling the undergarments of the tenant’s family member. Ortiz was the maintenance worker of the building. A court date of Sept. 14 was assigned.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
Apolinar Demetrio Morales, of Wheeling, is accused of having a suspended registration, no valid driver's license, and was arrested at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 24, at Dundee Road and Laburnum Drive. A court date of Sept. 20 was assigned.
After reviewing surveillance footage of a store in the 900 block of Willow Road, the loss prevention staff reported thefts on the dates of July 4, July 17 and Aug. 5. The suspects in all were a male and female.
THEFT
- A resident in the 4000 block of Picardy Drive reported at 6:31 p.m. Aug. 19, someone stole a package from their front porch or mailbox on Aug. 13.
- A resident of the 1300 block of Wessling Drive called police at 9:05 p.m. Aug. 23, to report that someone opened a box that was delivered to her porch and stole the contents inside — a set of keys to her house and vehicle.
RECOVERED STOLEN PROPERTY
Police recovered a stolen license plate off an abandoned vehicle at 3:38 p.m. Aug. 20, at Skokie Boulevard and Dundee Road. The auto dealership that owned the plate was contacted, as well as the Palatine Police Department, where it was originally reported as stolen.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of White Oak Drive called police at 11:49 a.m. Aug. 21, to report someone hacked his Amazon account and unlawfully made purchases on Aug. 12 and Aug. 18.
