Oak Forest Shooting Victim Shot In Back: Medical Examiner
The death of Adrian Gagen, who was found dead in an Oak Forest driveway on Sunday, has been ruled a homicide.

OAK FOREST, IL -- The victim of a Sunday morning fatal shooting in Oak Forest was shot in the back, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. The manner of death for 21-year-old Adrian R. Gagen of Chicago has been labeled a homicide, Becky Schlikerman of the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office also confirmed to Oak Forest Patch Thursday morning. Gagen was shot in what police called a "domestic disturbance" in an Oak Forest driveway Sunday morning.
Schlikerman said Gagen was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds to the back. Officers who responded to a report of shots fired around 9:25 a.m. Sunday said they found a victim later identified by the Medical Examiner's Office as Gagen lying unresponsive in a driveway in the 6600 block of 157th Street. Police said Monday that the shooting happened during a "domestic disturbance between family members," and a person of interest was taken into custody. Oak Forest police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force continue to investigate the shooting.

Services for Gagen are planned at Thomas McInerney's Sons Funeral Home at 4635 South Wallace St. in Chicago on Saturday. An obituary for Gagen indicates he was a father of one and "a friend to all who knew him."
