Shooting Of Boy In Oak Forest Remains Under Investigation

Oak Forest police continue investigation into a June shooting that wounded a juvenile near Corey Lane and Thomas Drive.

OAK FOREST, IL — The shooting of a juvenile boy in Oak Forest last month remains under investigation by local police.

Police responded to an area near Corey Lane and Thomas Drive late at night on June 28 to find a juvenile male shot multiple times. As of the next day, he was still recovering after surgery at an area hospital.

Oak Forest Police Chief Tim Kristin said Wednesday morning that the shooting remains under investigation.

"No information (is) being released at this time," Kristin wrote in an email to Oak Forest Patch.

The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is assisting local authorities on the investigation.

Oak Forest police have not released the age of the victim.
