Tire-Slashing Suspect Had Prior Arrest For Lewd Exposure
Midlothian police say Edgar Torres turned himself in 3 days after slashing the tires of four police vehicles at the station on Labor Day.

MIDLOTHIAN, IL -- The suspect in the police car tire slashing incident over Labor Day weekend in Midlothian had a prior arrest for public indecency and lewd exposure, police in the south suburb learned after he turned himself in on Thursday. Edgar Torres, 23, of Midlothian was charged with criminal damage to state supported property, a felony, in connection with the the tire-slashing of multiple police vehicles and one privately owned car in the parking lot of the Midlothian Police Department.
A suspect was shown on surveillance video at 10:48 a.m. on Labor Day riding a bicycle up to the police station at 148th and Pulaski and slashing the tires of some vehicles in the parking lot.

"I would like to sincerely thank the citizens for all of their overwhelming help and support throughout this investigation," said Interim Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney. "Also to the media outlets that helped disseminate the information to the public. A great job was done by the Midlothian Detective Division and I thank them for their efforts in this investigation, as well."
Police said they had one prior interaction with Torres and it came in July of 2016 when he was arrested for public indecency/lewd exposure.
