Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in Oak Lawn Area

Heavy rain has closed roads in the Oak Lawn area. UPDATED.

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn police and residents are reporting flooding throughout the area. Do not drive into standing water. Stay off roads if possible. Here are areas to avoid:

  • 103rd / 104th and Cicero is impassable due to flooding. Squads are blocking with barricades in place. NORMAL TRAFFIC HAS RESUMED AT 103RD AND CICERO.
  • 103/Central. Several cars stuck.
  • W/B 95th/Harlem ramp N/B flooded.

Residents are reporting flooding and water backing up into basements in Burbank, Palos, Orland Park and Crestwood, and Auburn-Gresham.

Cheyenne Jimenez, who shared photos of flooding by her home at 103rd and Major Avenue, said the flooding is the worst she's seen in five years.
