BB Shootings Cost Small Businesses Big Bucks: Oak Park Cops

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park Police are looking for suspect(s) who have caused costly damages to more than a dozen businesses in the village by shooting BBs at store windows. The incidents, which police reports show usually occur late at night or early in the morning, have been ongoing since late summer.

On Halloween, a victim was grazed in the cheek during a drive-by BB shooting. Between Oct. 25 and Oct. 29 alone, BB shootings caused upwards of $4,000 in damages to businesses in Oak Park.

According to police. he suspects in the Halloween incident were described as three or four males driving a white or gray four-door car. It is not clear whether the same suspects have been involved in all the BB shootings.

Most of the BB shootings have taken place along Madison Avenue in Oak Park, according to Wednesday Journal and have cost local business more than $7,000 in damages due to shattered windows.
