I-PASS Transponder Drop-Off Event by the Orland Park Lions Club
Safely dispose of expired transponders by swinging by Orland Township, located at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. in Orland Park, on April 27-28.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Consider taking part in the Transponder Drop-Off Event hosted by the Orland Park Lions Club! On Friday, April 26th from 3-7 PM, and Saturday, April 27th from 8 AM to Noon, you can safely dispose of your expired transponders by swinging by Orland Township, located at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., in Orland Park.
Volunteers and collection containers will be onsite so attendees can stay in their vehicles while dropping off expired transponders. The purpose of this event is to help the Illinois Tollway transition to more efficient I-Pass Sticker Tags. The new stickers use radiofrequency identification, eliminating the need for batteries. The Illinois Tollway is asking customers to dispose of expired transponders that contain lithium-ion batteries in an environmentally friendly way and not to place them in regular trash.
Please note that only deactivated transponders will be accepted. To deactivate, either call the Illinois Tollway at 800-824-7277 *2 to order a sticker for your car. The delivery time will be 2-3 weeks, after which you will need to call the tollway again to deactivate the transponder and receive your $10 deposit. Alternatively, you can also go to Jewel, pay $2.50 for your sticker, receive the sticker, and then call the tollway at 800-824-7277 *2 to deactivate the transponder and receive your $10 deposit.
