Orland Park Man Drops $400 at Polekatz, Gets Caught With Coke and Pot While Drinking and Driving: Cops
The Orland Park man was "totally obliterated," said the Riverside police chief.

A drunk and high Orland Park man arrested on his way home from a Bridgeview strip club early Sunday morning was carrying a jar of pot and a bag of cocaine, police said.
Sahil Desai, 27, was “totally obliterated when stopped by Riverside Police and was slurring his speech, difficult to understand, and could barely stand up,” said Police Chief Thomas Weitzel.
The cops reportedly spotted Desai driving erratically about 2:30 a.m. near the corner of Kimbark and Woodside roads, and followed along as he sped, swerved and blew through a couple stop signs.

Desai’s Toyota “then came to an abrupt stop” on Forest Avenue and “sat in the middle of the street for several seconds” before turning right, police said. Desai “completely failed to use the right turn lane” when he did this, according to the cops.
An officer reportedly walked up to Desai’s stopped car and asked him for his driver’s license, which he was “unable to produce” before dropping his wallet to the ground.
Desai failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said. When officers searched his car, they reportedly found a jar of pot, rolling papers and a small plastic bag of cocaine. An officer also happened upon a “receipt from a bar called The Vonch Bar and Grill located inside The Polekatz Gentleman’s Club in Bridgeview,” police said.

The receipt was for $403.50 and was stamped for less than an hour before the traffic stop, according to police, who said, “Most of the receipt was for alcohol.”
When Desai was “interviewed, he admitted to drinking excessively, ingesting cannabis, ingesting cocaine, and then getting in his vehicle and driving home,” police said.
Weitzel spoke of Desai as if he was an unguided missile rolling down the streets of Riverside and said his arrest averted a possible tragedy.
“If this individual had been not stopped by police, I am convinced he either would have injured or killed an innocent motorist on the roadway or killed or injured himself,” Weitzel said.
