Deputy Coroner Jacquie Purcell Wins Kendall Coroner GOP Nomination

Purcell ran against Carl Gutierrez, who came in at 6,679 votes to Purcell's 8,423. There was no Democratic candidate for coroner.

With all 84 precincts counted, Jacquie Purcell has won the GOP nomination in the Kendall County coroner's race

Purcell has said she is the most qualified candidate for coroner. She’s been a full-time deputy coroner for 12 years and spent over 270 days on call in 2015. There’s not an aspect of the job she hasn’t done, she said in a prior Patch article, and claims she’s the only nationally-certified death investigator in all of Kendall County.

She defeated Carl Gutierrez, of Oswego, whose worked as a deputy coroner since 2012. He's a retired Illinois State Police lieutenant with 30 years of law enforcement experience.
