Apartment Fire Extinguished Within Minutes

A small fire in an apartment was put out within minutes of the arrival of Oswego firefighters.

According to the Oswego Fire Protection District, an occupant of an apartment on 104 Rocky Way in Montgomery called regarding a fire in the bedroom at 9 a.m. Friday.

Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the second floor apartment. A hose line was stretched to the unit and firefighters found a small fire in a back bedroom.

The fire was quickly extinguished and under control within 10 minutes of the arrival of firefighters. There were no signs of the fire extending to other units in the building.

No injuries were reported and due to the quick action of firefighters there was only minor smoke and water damage.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
