Palatine Founders' Day Ceremony Coming up April 2nd

The Village's official birthday will be commemorated with a ceremony to kick-off a year of celebrations for Palatine's Sesquicentennial.

The Palatine Founders' Day Ceremony will be held on the Village's official 150th birthday, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 held at the Palatine Historical Society, 224 E. Palatine Road.

The ceremony will begin with remarks from Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz, who will speak about the Village's legacy, followed by Sue Gould, Palatine Park District Commissioner and a lifelong resident of Palatine. Gould's family came to settle in the Village in 1892.

The official Palatine 150 Song, composed by Palatine resident David Reiser will be sung by the Allegro Community Chorus, and the Sesquicentennial Time Capsule will be buried on the historical society grounds to communicate to future generations about what Palatine is, today.
