• Missing Woman Seen On Police Bodycam Before Vanishing: Palatine PD (patch.com) — Palatine police are asking for the public's help locating 24-year-old Alyssa Smith, whose disappearance they are investigating after she was last seen in Chicago and reported missing by family on Sept. 30. Detectives from Palatine are working with Chicago and Cook County authorities, following multiple reported sightings on Chicago's West Side and releasing bodycam and video images, while urging anyone with information to contact Palatine police or call 911.

• Rolling Meadows Library joins regional consortium, expanding access to more items (dailyherald.com) — Palatine library users will soon benefit from Rolling Meadows Library joining a 34-member catalog consortium, speeding up interlibrary loans and expanding access to millions of items. While the switch happens October 16–20, some holds and newer materials will be temporarily limited, but Palatine-area patrons can still check out most items and eventually borrow and return across all member libraries.
