• Comings & Goings: Zachary's Grill closed in Palos Heights (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — A longtime Palos Heights favorite, Zachary's Grill on Ridgeland Avenue is closed until further notice, with calls and emails to the owner going unanswered. City development officials and the Palos Area Chamber hadn't been told of the shutdown, and the restaurant's Facebook page hasn't been updated since an August 11 post about a power outage.
   

• Rare diagnosis, fierce love: How one family is turning Ozzie's battle into hope (southwestregionalpublishing.com) — A Palos Heights family is rallying around 4-year-old Ozzie Benda after his diagnosis with the rare Sanfilippo syndrome Type A, and they're asking neighbors to help raise awareness. With deep roots in town and a child at Palos East Elementary, they hope Palos Heights joins their push for better understanding, research, and support for families facing this disease.
   

• Frost re-sign Kendall Coyne Schofield to two-year contract (yardbarker.com) — Palos Heights native Kendall Coyne Schofield has signed a new two-year deal with the Minnesota Frost, keeping the star forward in the PWHL through the 2027–28 season. The multi-time Olympic medalist and Northeastern legend remains one of the league's top scorers, giving local fans another reason to follow her pro career from home.
