As the weather finally gets warm, south suburbanites will come across a heightened chance of fun. Events throughout the South Side and south suburbs are filling up as early as this weekend. Here's a look at all the fun going on in the area from April 13-15, 2018.
FRIDAY, APRIL 13
MPA Comedy Night features hilarious local comedians Pat McGann, Dwayne Kennedy and Jim Flannigan at Morgan Park Academy, 2153 W. 111th St. from 7-9 p.m.

Drama students at Bloom High School will give performances of "Beauty and the Beast - The Smash Hit Broadway Musical" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Friday's show begins at 7 p.m.
SATURDAY, APRIL 14

The always fun Lake Katherine Fishing Contest runs from 7 a.m. to noon in Palos Heights.
Among the most well-known high school bands in the area will present their spring concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Marist Band concerts will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the school at 4200 W. 115th St. in Chicago and then again at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
There's a Coffee with the Cop event in Flossmoor, where residents of the village and nearby towns will have a chance to interact with police officers on an informal basis.
Carnival season kicks off this weekend at the Rivercrest Shopping Center in Crestwood. Go anytime from 2-9 p.m. this weekend.
SUNDAY, APRIL 15
A Heroes for the Homeless event kicks off from noon to 3 p.m. at the Shannon Center on the campus of Saint Xavier University.
There's an I Am Me Burn Camp Fundraiser hosted by the Oak Lawn Healthcare Rotary at Arena Lanes, 4700 W. 103rd St. in Oak Lawn from 2-4 p.m.
