Champion Creek Upgrades Include New Equipment, Resurfaced Basketball Court

PLAINFIELD, IL — Champion Creek Park, a roughly 7.6-acre green space in Plainfield's subdivision of the same name, is set to undergo renovations this year, officials announced.

Here's a look at what improvements are in store for the park, located at 24100 W. Champion Drive:

• Updated play equipment
• Resurfaced half basketball court with a new goal and net
• Fresh paint job on the existing shelter
• New site furniture and picnic table
• Landscape additions
• New backstop in the same location
• Partial sidewalk replacements and ramps for ADA upgrade

Construction is scheduled to begin in October.

Based on feedback from Champion Creek residents, the Plainfield Park District determined the rendering shown below, with some revisions, will best meet the community's needs.
