That Moment Couple Learn Their Nash Won't Make It As A Guard Dog: Weird News & Oddities (patch.com) — A Plainfield family's golden retriever, Bear, survived being hit by cars and then getting stranded in the rising DuPage River before his firefighter "grandpa" swam out to rescue him. Neighbors, local businesses, and even drone operators joined the search after Bear bolted into the street and disappeared. He's now home recovering from injuries and infections, and expected to be okay.
