Romeoville Event Center to Host Basketball Skills Development Camp
Camp is open to all girls in eighth through 12th grade.

USA Basketball this week announced it will conduct its first girls Regional Skills Development Camp Oct. 17 to 19 at the Romeoville Athletic and Event Center, 55 Phelps Ave.
The Skills Development Camp, open to any female basketball player currently in 8th through 12th grade, will combine on-court skills lessons and scrimmages with off-court educational sessions.

USA Basketball Women’s National Team Director Carol Callan will serve as camp director. Jill Rankin Schneider (Monterey H.S., Texas), head coach of the gold medalist 2012 USA U17 World Championship and 2011 USA U16 Championship teams and a 1980 U.S. Olympic Team member and 1979 USA World Championship Team gold medalist, will be the lead clinician. Additional court coaches will feature Chicago area collegiate and high school coaches.
“This camp is a great opportunity for players of any level to improve their skills and to learn from USA Basketball National Team caliber coaches and staff,” Callan said. “Over the three day Skills Development Camp, players will be involved in sessions focused on fundamentals, scrimmages, a 3x3 tournament, and additionally, there will be several off-court education sessions.”

The USA Basketball Skills Development Camp will be capped at 200 athletes.
The cost of the camp is $120 and includes a USA Basketball jersey and sports accident insurance. Registration can be completed online at http://www.eventzilla.net/web/event?eventid=2139058270.
The camp will feature a total of six sessions, one on Friday, Oct. 17, three sessions on Saturday, Oct. 18 and two sessions on Sunday, Oct. 19.
