ROMEOVILLE, IL — Route 53 near Lewis University is currently closed due to a fatal traffic accident which happened on Friday afternoon, according to Romeoville Police.
As of 4:45 p.m. Friday, police said the traffic unit was still investigating the crash, which happened on Independence Boulevard north of University Parkway.
According to police, the crash is a fatal traffic incident. Police did not provide additional information, pending notification of family and the completion of the investigation.
