• 5 Skokie Students Named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Skokie families have reason to celebrate as five local Niles West High School students were named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program, placing them among the top one percent of seniors nationwide. These students will now complete detailed applications covering academics, activities, and leadership, with finalists to be announced in February and scholarship winners chosen next spring.
   

• Walking, standing, or sitting (juf.org) — Skokie residents can look forward to the Illinois Holocaust Museum's Skokie campus reopening in October with improved accessibility and updated educational spaces, with group tours starting in November. In the meantime, Experience360 and related exhibits are running at the museum's temporary State Street space, alongside several fall Jewish cultural events in Chicago and a staged reading at Northwestern.
