Skokie Salon Caused Woman to Lose Hair: Suit

Woman says employees at Gigi's Coiffure were negligent in performing a hair straightening treatment.

A Skokie salon is accused of causing one woman to lose her hair.

Sonia Evans of Lake County filed a complaint on May 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Jacklin Namroud, doing business as Gigi’s Coiffure - according to the Cook County Record.

According to the suit, Evans purchased a hair straightening treatment at Gigi’s on May 12, but the salon’s employees allegedly were negligent in performing the treatment and the plaintiff lost her hair, which hasn’t grown back to its original length.

The salon is alleged to have failed to select the right hair treatment; perform a patch test to see if the treatment would cause the plaintiff injury; apply the treatment correctly; remove excess solution from her hair; and warn her that the products could cause adverse reactions.
