Frankfort Man Jailed In Connection With Road Rage Incident Locked Up Again On Gun Charge

The Frankfort man's FOID card had expired, police said.

A Frankfort man jailed on a felony mob action charge was locked up again the day after he posted bond and got out.

Nedal Elabed, 25, was charged with allowing his Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card to expire.

Elabed spent only about two and a half hours in the Will County jail before he was released on his own recognizance Wednesday afternoon. He posted $25,000 for his release from jail the day before.

Two days prior to that, Elabed was arrested along with Ahmad Elabed, 46, Hakm Elabed, 23, and Jehad Elabed, 18. All three were charged with felony mob action. In addition to mob action, Hakm Elabed was charged with criminal damage to property.

The four men, along with a 16-year-old, were in a Chevy Tahoe that pursued a 21-year-old man and his girlfriend into Tinley Park, police said. The Elabeds and the other driver then reportedly headed over to the Tinley Park Police Department to accuse each other of wrongdoing.

The Elabeds claimed they were actually “threatened and followed by (by the other driver) and his girlfriend,” police said, but the 21-year-old’s girlfriend showed officers a cell phone video of the four men emerging from their Tahoe.

In the video, according to a police report, Ahmad Elabad blocked traffic while Hakm Elabad rushed at the other sport utility vehicle with a pipe, apparently striking and damaging it.
