1 Dead in Crash in Winfield Township

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL - One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Winfield Township Tuesday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Gary’s Mill Road in unincorporated West Chicago at about 11 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office press release.

One of the drivers was ejected from his vehicle and taken to Central DuPage Hospital by the Winfield Fire Department where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Central DuPage with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The release of the victim’s identity is pending an autopsy by the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.

The roadway was closed until about 4 a.m. Wednesday. All roadways are now open.
