Dr. Scott Sporer of Wheaton is Accepted into The Hip Society

Wheaton resident Dr. Scott Sporer, a Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush surgeon, has been accepted into The Hip Society, a national organization of orthopaedic professionals dedicated to hip condition research, education and patient care.

Dr. Sporer, who sees patients at Central DuPage Hospital and Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, joins fellow Midwest Orthopaedic at Rush surgeons Dr. Craig Della Valle, Dr. Jorge Galante, Dr. Joshua Jacobs, Dr. Aaron Rosenberg and Dr. Wayne Paprosky as members of this prestigious society.

Specializing in hip, knee, and joint replacement, Dr. Sporer is known for his primary and revision arthroplasty surgery and minimally invasive techniques. He recently made headlines for becoming the first in the country to use radiostereometric analysis (RSA) for his hip replacement patients. This new technology tracks any movement of an implant using tiny beads as markers. Using stereo x-ray technology, the marker data is monitored and stored to provide information if a hip replacement patient should experience discomfort in the future.
