What is Christian Masculinity? Male Embodiment, Ancient Virtue, and Paul's Fruit of the Spirit

The Discipleship Ministries at Wheaton College presents "What is Christian Masculinity? Male Embodiment, Ancient Virtue, and Paul's Fruit of the Spirit," a lecture by Dr. Zachary Wagner (keynote) with panelists Dr. Amy Peeler and Dr. Todd Wilson on Monday, September 21, 2026 at 7:00 PM.

Contemporary discussions about men and masculinity can be highly polarizing, often heated, and can leave young men confused, angry, or unsure how to live into their identity as God's beloved sons. In this lecture, Dr. Zachary Wagner will be approaching the question "What is Christian Masculinity?" through the lens of ancient virtue formation and Paul's discussion of the fruit of the Spirit. This perspective can help us rethink what men and masculinity are about from a distinctly Christian viewpoint.  

Dr. Zachary Wagner is an author, ordained minister, and New Testament scholar. He holds degrees from Moody Bible Institute, Wheaton College, and Oxford University. He is the author of two books on men and masculinity, including his most recent book, "Men of Virtue: How the Fruit of the Spirit Forms Male Character in the Modern World."
