A Look Back at 2015: Wheaton Year in Review

WHEATON, IL - It was a busy news year for Wheaton.

We are looking back on 2015 and recapping our most-read stories from the past year. Here is a look at those stories:

1. Boil Order Issued for Some Wheaton, Winfield, Carol Stream Customers: This is not news any resident wants to get. After this news broke, our article was shared more than 1,200 times.
2. Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith Helps a Little Girl Score a Goal: A Wheaton girl with Rett syndrome was featured in the Chicago Blackhawks’ What’s Your Goal video. Readers loved this story and shared it over 7,800 times on Facebook.
3. Black Students Lead Klan Parody at Christian School and All Heck Breaks Out: A group of Wheaton College football players, led by two African-American students, donned Klan robes and hoods and marched with Confederate flags for a team-building exercise, embarrassing the Christian school and distressing the college president.
4. Backpage Ad Leads To Prostitution Arrest At Wheaton Massage Parlor: This was the second time the Wheaton business got into trouble for prostitution. The business advertised masseurs with “super bodywork” skills.
5. Graphic Abortion Photos to Appear on Wheaton, Chicago-Area Streets: Several local residents were upset over this and our article was shared over 900 times on Facebook.
6. Wheaton North Ranked Among Best High Schools in Nation: Newsweek: Great news this past year for Wheaton North.
7. Wheaton Attorney Accused of Bilking Trusts of Deceased Clients: The Wheaton attorney was arrested for stealing more than $2 million from clients, including four former clients who were deceased, prosecutors said Wednesday.
8. Wheaton Graphic Artist Made Fake Ad of NRA Activist Getting Shot in Head: This one is just ... strange. A graphic artist from Wheaton made a fake advertisement of an NRA activist getting shot and shared the ad on Twitter.
9. Wheaton Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography: The Wheaton man was arrested last month.
10. Teen Charged With Murder in Brutal Glenbard West Grad Party Stabbing: The Glendale Heights man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Tehavis Price of Aurora at a Glenbard West graduation party over the weekend.
