Wallets Swiped From Shopping Carts At 2 Stores In Wheaton: Cops
Wallets and cards were stolen from unattended shopping carts at Whole Foods and Home Goods, according to Wheaton's recent crime blotter.
WHEATON, IL — Within a matter of 24 hours, credit cards were stolen from a wallet that was in a cart at Home Goods, and a wallet was stolen from a purse that was left in a cart at Whole Foods, according to Wheaton's most recent crime blotter. In one of the incidents, the stolen credit cards were later used to make purchases at other stores.
Credit Cards Stolen from Wallet at Home Goods
A credit card holder was stolen from a wallet that was left in an unattended cart at Home Goods, 38 Danada Square West. Police say the cards were used to make unauthorized purchases at other stores after the initial theft, which took place just before 1:10 p.m. on Jan. 20.

Wallet Stolen from Purse at Whole Foods
A shopper told police someone removed their wallet from their purse while it was left unattended in a shopping cart at Whole Foods, 89 Danada Square East. The incident took place on Jan. 21, sometime between 3:40 p.m. and 4:07 p.m.

Similar incidents took place in December, when wallets were also stolen from carts at Home Goods and Whole Foods in Wheaton. On the afternoon of Jan. 13, a wallet was stolen from a cart at Whole Foods, according to Wheaton police. As with the previous incidents, the Jan. 13 theft took place in the afternoon.
