WHEATON, IL — Wheaton plans to make improvements to flood-prone areas with a series of capital projects that will begin with work near Dorset Park.

The initiative comes after Wheaton's Engineering Department performed 17 flood studies over the course of three years, a news release said. The studies identified 15 potential areas that may benefit from flood improvement projects.

Residents, especially those who live near Dorset Park, at Orchard and Butterfield Roads and Dorset Drive, are invited to learn more about the Dorset Park flood improvement plans at two upcoming meetings at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. The meetings will be held Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
