2017 Wilmette Halloween Events Guide
Find trick-or-treat times and other Halloween-related events on Chicago's North Shore.

WILMETTE, IL — There's a variety of Halloween events planned for Wilmette this year. Spooky activities sponsored by local park districts and community groups get underway Oct. 20 and run until the end of the month.

The Halloween Happening is a family friendly event filled with thrills and chills, featuring carnival games, a moonwalk, a magician, arts and crafts, face painting and pony rides. Other highlights include the Theater of Terror and the Reptile Room. A dinner of pizza, a goody bag and a visit to the pumpkin patch are included. All children must be accompanied by an adult, maximum of two adults per family. (4 p.m. - 8 p.m, Hibbard Park, 3000 Glenview Rd., $25 for residents, $30 for nonresidents aged 4-18. Registration on the day of the event includes an extra $5 fee.)

The Linden Square Pumpkin Walk will feature a free petting zoo, face painting, a magician and balloon animals. Attendees are invited to come in costume and stop in participating shop in the neighborhood business district for treats and giveaways. (11 a.m. - 1 p.m., 4th Street and Linden Avenue, free)
The Spooky Skate returns to Centennial Ice. Come in costume and enjoy a costume contest, prize drawings and other games. Skate rentals will be available. (1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., 2300 Old Glenview Rd., $8.75 adults, $7.75 students, $4 kids 5 and under. $5 with costume or free for kids under 6 in costume)
Saturday, Oct. 28 and Monday, Oct. 30
Halloween Storytime at the Wilmette Public Library is aimed at kids ages 3 and up. Costumes are encourages to come and enjoy seasonal stories and songs – often more silly than spooky. (10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Youth Program room, 1242 Wilmette Ave., free)
Tuesday, Oct. 31
Trick-or-Treat hours in Wilmette and Kenilworth run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parents, guardians or caretakers should accompany children (or send an older sibling) and make sure they don't enter anyone's home without your permission.
