Giant Purple Purse Makes Way Around North Shore for Domestic Violence Awareness

The purse will be in Evanston, Wilmette, Glencoe and Skokie through the end of October.

A giant Purple Purse is making its way around Chicago's North Shore as part of the YWCA Evanston/ North Shore's participation in the “Purple Purse Challenge," a fundraising campaign is designed to ignite public awareness around domestic violence and financial abuse.

The purse has already made stops at Independence Park in Evanston, the North Shore Community Bank & Trust in Glencoe, Downtown Glencoe and the Levy Center in Evanston.

The purse is scheduled to be at the following locations at the following times:

October 10 - Northwestern University Women’s Center, 2000 Sheridan Road, Evanston
October 11 (afternoon) - Y.O.U., 1823 Church Street, Evanston
October 12 - North Shore Community Bank & Trust, 1135 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette
October 13 - Hilton Orrington/Evanston Hotel, 1710 Orrington Ave., Evanston
October 14 - North Shore Community Bank & Trust, 7800 Lincoln Ave., Skokie
October 15 - Autobarn Motors, 1015 Chicago Ave., Evanston
