The Phoebe Variations: An Evening with Jane Hamilton

The Book Stall is excited to welcome bestselling author Jane Hamilton for an in-store discussion in celebration of the paperback release of her book, The Phoebe Variations! A stunning coming-of-age novel about friendship, mothers, and finding one's way in the world by the New York Times bestselling author of The Book of Ruth and A Map of the World. Ms. Hamilton will be happy to sign her works! She will be in-conversation with the Avant Symphony Orchestra composer-in-residence, Michael Druzinsky. 

Jane Hamilton’s novels have won literary prizes, have been made into films, and have been international bestsellers, and two of them, The Book of Ruth and A Map of the World, were selections of Oprah’s Book Club. Her nonfiction has appeared in the New York Times; The Washington Post; Allure; O, The Oprah Magazine; Elle; and various anthologies. She lives on an apple farm in Wisconsin.

Michael Druzinsky grew up in Chicago and is the composer-in-residence for the Avant Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago) which makes its home at DePaul University, since 2011. This orchestra, led by Mina Zikri, regularly performs his works, most recently a waltz from his Suite for Strings in June. Michael also occasionally accompanies jazz singer Bonnie Watts.
