Cops Bust House Party For Underage Drinking, Charge Host: Blotter

Incident and arrest from Winnetka, Glencoe, Northfield for April 19-25.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone did $400 worth of damage to the back window of a car parked at New Trier High School between 9 a.m. and noon on April 14, police were told on the afternoon of April 16.

FRAUD
A Walden Road resident discovered that someone had gotten access to their computer at noon on April 11 and asked for money online in order to "fix" a computer virus. There was no loss reported.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Willow Road resident reported on the afternoon of April 16 that someone had used their personal information to open a credit card account and had attempted to open several more. There was no immediate loss reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An employee at a business in the 700 block of Elm Street reported on April 19 that someone had used an object to do $1,000 worth of damage to two windows shortly before 2:40 p.m. on March 26.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Green Bay Road resident reported on the morning of April 19 that someone had used their debit card account to made two unauthorized purchases for a total of $18.49.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Spruce Street resident reported on April 22 that someone had used their personal information to open up an unauthorized Comcast account on April 20 for a loss of $177.31.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT ATTEMPT
A Grove Street resident reported on April 20 that someone tried to open up a Verizon account and a Kohl's account using their personal information. There was no reported loss.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Hawthorn Avenue resident reported on April 23 that someone had gotten access to their computer and financial accounts "by deception" and stole $5,500.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Police issued underage drinking citations to 14 people between the age of 18 and 20 shortly after midnight on April 22 in the 400 block of Park Avenue. An 18-year-old resident of the home was charged with unlawfully permitting a gathering while knowing attendees are under 21 years old and drinking, which a class A misdemeanor with a minimum fine of $500. Those cited included six Glencoe residents, three from Wilmette, two from Northbrook and one resident each from Northfield, Winnetka and Lafayette, California.

A 29-year-old Kenosha man was arrested around 9 p.m. on April 22 near the intersection of Dundee and Hohlfelder roads and charged without driving without a valid license and with expired registration. He was also cited for having less than 10 grams of marijuana.

A 38-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 2 a.m. on April 24 near the intersection of Dundee Road and Forestway Drive and charged with driving without a valid license. He was also cited for driving without lights when required, failure to signal possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis paraphernalia.

INCIDENTS

FRAUD
A employee at a business in the 500 block of Central Avenue reported at 4 p.m. on April 17 that someone bought more than $10,000 worth of computer equipment with a possibly stolen or fraudulent credit card.

FRAUD
A Laurie Lane resident reported around 5 p.m. on April 17 that she had gotten a notification about fraudulent activity on one of her credit cards.

BATTERY
A Winnetka resident reported shortly before 7 p.m. on April 22 that he had been involved in a physical altercation with another man at a dog park in the 400 block of Wagner Road.
