Legal Aid Clinics Begin At New Trier Township March 12th
Free, Confidential Legal Assistance In The Areas Of Immigration And Domestic Violence To Individuals And Families.

The North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic will offer regularly scheduled legal clinics to low-income individuals and families beginning March 12, 2020 at the New Trier Township hall located at 739 Elm Street in Winnetka. Legal counselors will offer free, confidential services to clients in need of help with immigration and domestic violence situations from 10:00 a.m. until noon, the second Thursday of each month.
Attorney Gail Schnitzer –Eisenberg, a Wilmette resident and New Trier Township Trustee spearheaded the new initiative with assistance from Attorney Susan Shulman, Executive Director of the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic.
“Last fall we held a Township Educational Forum on domestic violence and immigration law. The information was impactful and the need was evident to do more, said Trustee Eisenberg. We discussed the concept of a free legal clinic that would address the needs of underserved individuals with our presenters Lia Kim-Yi and Rebecca Weininger, and agreed to schedule a monthly clinic the second Thursday of each month. Services like these help us strengthen the communities we serve.”
